Wetumpka, AL – Janice Randolph Fatally Injured on Hwy 14
Wetumpka, AL (February 01, 2021) – Alabama State Troopers were called to the scene of a three-vehicle collision in Elmore County that resulted in one fatality on Saturday, January 30th.
Police reported that 81-year-old Janice J. Randolph, a resident of Eclectic, was killed during the accident that happened at about 3:45 p.m. on Highway 14, near Wetumpka.
Officers stated that the 2000 Dodge Caravan Randolph was driving, along with a 2019 Toyota Corolla, and a 2008 Chrysler 300 all collided with one another and caused Randolph’s vehicle to overturn.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has not yet determined the cause of the accident.
The driver of the Chrysler, 36-year-old Sonya D. Buckhanon, also a resident of Eclectic, was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment. Her current medical condition is unknown.
The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota, a resident of Wetumpka, was unharmed during the incident.
The cause of this collision remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol Division.
