Shorter, AL – Accident on I-85 Results in Injuries and Delays
Shorter, AL (September 25, 2020) – At approximately 5:55 p.m., on September 25, the Alabama Highway Patrol, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians responded to the site of a crash on Interstate 85 in Macon County.
Reports from local authorities show that a motor vehicle collision occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 85 in the area just before the exit for Alabama State Highway 229.
Crews responded to the scene of the accident and immediately secured the area. Medical technicians rendered aid to victims at the scene before transporting those in need of further assistance to area hospitals for treatment.
The crash resulted in major delays throughout the area as crews spent over two hours clearing the scene of the accident to enable traffic to go through the area.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
