Birmingham, AL (December 08, 2020) – A man was fatally struck by a car on Thursday, December 3rd in Birmingham.
The accident occurred when the victim was hit by a car as he was crossing the street at the intersection of Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard North and 46th Street North on a non-motorized scooter at about 5:45 p.m.
The man has been identified as 26-year-old Willie Joe Mickens, Jr.
The driver who struck Mickens did not stop to check on the victim’s condition or call for help before he fled the scene of the accident.
The events leading up to the death of the victim are currently under investigation by officers from the Birmingham Police Department.
