Birmingham, AL – Jessie Earl Long Killed on First Ave North
Birmingham, AL (October 12, 2020) – A car accident that took place on Saturday, October 10th in Birmingham caused the death of one man and the serious injury of another.
On Monday, October 12th, the coroner from Jefferson County identified the deceased as 57-year-old Jessie Earl Long.
The single-car accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of First Avenue North when, according to officials, the sedan collided with a utility pole.
Long was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:46 p.m.
The only other occupant in Long’s vehicle was transported via ambulance to a local trauma center with unspecified injuries.
Officers from the Birmingham Police Department are still investigating the cause of this accident.
